- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I applied online for a joint account for myself and my wife. By applying online I qualified for a $200.00 bonus. I got an instant approval email and today got something in the mail also telling me I was approved and to sign and return a document. The envelope did not contain the document and when I called they said it was not approved and that the application was denied. I explained that the fist line in the letter tells me “Congratulation! We’re pleased to inform you that your application for a new Wells Fargo account has been approved.” After some checking the CSR found the issue and I would have to go in the local branch to open the account, but it would be approved. Then told me since I have to open this at the local branch I would no longer quality for the 200.00. What a joke. With all the banking choices available, I’ll be looking elsewhere.By Chad Man, April 20, 2017
